Terms of Use

The GrahakNyay chatbot (hereinafter referred to as "the Chatbot") was developed through a collaborative project between the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) (hereinafter referred to as "the developers"). By accessing or using the Chatbot, you (the "User") agree to be bound by the following terms of use ("Terms").

1. Purpose and Nature of the Chatbot

The Chatbot is an experimental, consumer-facing artificial intelligence tool designed to provide general information, assistance, and responses to user queries. It is currently in its beta phase, meaning it is still under development and testing. The Chatbot is not intended to replace professional advice or serve as an authoritative source of information.

The Developers, their affiliates, partners, and collaborators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or reliance on the Chatbot, including but not limited to losses, damages, or harm resulting from inaccurate information, technical failures, or user decisions.

The Developers are not responsible for any actions taken by Users based on the Chatbot's responses, nor for any third-party content accessed through links or references provided by the Chatbot.

All content, code, designs, and technology underlying the Chatbot are the intellectual property of the Developers or their licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Chatbot without prior written consent from the Developers.

6. Third-Party Content

The Chatbot may provide links, references, or information sourced from third-party websites, services, or platforms. The Developers do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the accuracy, legality, or availability of such third-party content.

7. Privacy

The Chatbot may collect and process user data (e.g., queries, interactions) to improve its performance and provide responses. By using the Chatbot, you consent to such data collection and processing as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

8. Termination of Access

The Developers reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Chatbot at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms, technical maintenance, or discontinuation of the beta program.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from the use of the Chatbot shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, India.

The Developers may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Chatbot's functionality, legal requirements, or other factors. Continued use of the Chatbot after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
